No, our experience is a Discover Scuba Dive, therefore there is no qualification attached. You can, however, use your dive log towards becoming qualified.

No, we do not offer diving courses.

You are welcome to bring your own gear providing it is within a service period, and our team will disinfect it with Safe4 prior to your dive.

Your Junior Shark Encounter gift voucher includes 1 free spectator, and the Adult Shark Encounter includes 2 free spectators. You are welcome to bring additional spectators and receive a 20% discounted admission on their ticket.

You can dive when on your period, don’t let the media fool you!

Our highly experienced and trained dive team are well equipped to take divers of all abilities into the water. Whether you are paralysed or neurodivergent, our team are here to help! Please note, all divers must have the PADI Physicians Form signed by a physician to let us know you are fit to dive prior to the experience.

You can dive with any hair dye that does not run when wet.

We offer refunds based on medical grounds only. The PADI physicians form will need to be completed stating that you are medically unfit to dive and can be sent to info@blueplanetaquarium.co.uk. Refunds are processed by way of a cheque, posted to the address used when purchasing the voucher. Please note, all dive refunds are subject to a £25 administration fee.

You can take photos exclusively on a chest mounted go pro camera, or other, and the recording must be started prior to entering the water and not touched during the dive.

No, for our animals’ health and safety – and yours! – touching the animals is not permitted.

As your scuba mask needs to create a seal around your face, you are unable to wear glasses underneath. We recommend going without or contact lenses.

All divers and spectator entries include entry into the aquarium. For adult dives, this would be prior to your scheduled experience time, and for juniors’ dives, you are welcome to view the aquarium when your experience is finished.

No, the junior dive takes place as a stationary scuba dive on a bridge, and the adult dive is non-stationary, however you will walk along the bottom of our Ocean display.

No, they won’t. All our sharks have a fish-based diet, so humans aren’t on the menu!

You will complete both theory work, and in water training in our pool before you dive with our sharks

No, there are no cages at Blue Planet Aquarium!

The classroom and in-water training take between 1.5-2 hours, and the dive itself is 30 minutes.

We are a PADI experience centre, therefore, we do not offer qualification courses, refresher dives, or other similar.

For a Junior Shark Encounter, spectators should arrive at the same time as the diver to receive a guided tour of the aquarium whilst the diver is completing their training. For an Adult Shark Encounter, spectators can arrive at any point throughout the day, however, will need to be here by 4pm.

Swimwear to wear underneath a wetsuit, a towel, and any toiletries you’d like for your shower.

Yes, you can, your dive will be logged with PADI following your experience.
