Ticket Terms & Conditions

Blue Planet Aquarium Tickets available include Standard, Junior (up to 12 years), Concession (Senior Citizens over 65 and Students), Family Ticket (2 Standard + 2 Junior) and Groovy Grandparent Ticket (2 Senior Citizens over 65 & 2 Junior)

Blue Planet Aquarium reserves the right to alter any offers and promotions without notice.

No promotions and special offers are valid at the attraction on Bank Holidays.

Infant Junior’s under 90cm height are admitted free to Blue Planet Aquarium and therefore do not require an entry ticket.

Any visitor under the age of 16 years, must be accompanied by a person over 18 years of age.

Blue Planet Aquarium Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable and accordingly may not be sold or passed to any third party.

Blue Planet Aquarium Tickets are valid for one single visit on the day they have been purchased. E-tickets are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase for a one day visit .

Blue Planet Aquarium reserves the right to alter admission prices and opening times without notice.

Proof of entitlement for certain Ticket types may be required for entry (for example with a Concession Ticket for a Student a valid NUS Card should be produced. No other student card will be accepted.)

Visitors should be aware that there may be school groups in the attraction during a visit.

Some optional attractions at Blue Planet Aquarium are not included in the cost of an Entry Ticket and require an additional charge. Additionally some attractions have a height restriction or health and safety restriction.

Note: Should you wish to leave and then re-enter Blue Planet Aquarium on the day of your visit a hand stamp (available at Reception) is required for re-entry.

Visitors are reminded that for operational, technical, safety or any other reason any advertised exhibit, attraction or any of the facilities on site may be closed, removed, altered or otherwise unavailable at any time. Blue Planet Aquarium reserves the right to alter or cancel any show time of feeding time or any other presentation without notice.

Blue Planet Aquarium reserves the right to refuse admission, or to remove any visitor whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate by Blue Planet Aquarium staff. No refund will be given.

When attraction capacity is reached on busier days Blue Planet Aquarium reserves the right to control any queue or the flow of visitors into the attraction. Visitors are advised that in these circumstances this can result in delays at entry.

Terms and conditions Annual passes

All Blue Planet Aquarium Annual Passes are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and are usable from the moment of purchase.

All Annual Passes are printed at Blue Planet Aquarium and held at the admissions desk to be collected on a future visit.
Printing times of Annual Passes may vary.

Annual Pass holders awaiting the printing of their passes may still use them by supplying proof of purchase at the admissions desk.

Annual Passes may be used to gain admission to the aquarium on any of the 364 days a year we are open. Entrance times are 10:00am to 5:00pm with last admissions at 4:00pm.

Annual Passes do not guarantee admission to the aquarium after last admissions at 4:00pm.

Annual Passes which are lost can be replaced upon request, an additional administration fee of five pounds will be applied.

Blue Planet Aquarium operates on a queuing system and guests may be required to wait and queue for admission if required. Annual Passes do not allow holders to pass the queue to gain admissions faster.

Annual Passes may be posted to holders from the aquarium if requested by the holder, additional fees will be applied. All requests for passes to be sent via post must be submitted in writing to [email protected]
Blue Planet Aquarium holds no responsibility if posted passes are delayed or are lost on route to holders.

Blue Planet Annual Passes are non-refundable and non-transferrable and accordingly may not be sold or passed on to any third party.

All Blue Planet Aquarium annual passes will require a photograph to be taken as photographic identification on the pass. If your pass does not have any photo I.D then we will require proof of I.D in the form of a valid drivers license or passport.

Children under 90 cm in height who receive free admission to the aquarium will not be required to purchase an annual pass. Children over 90 cm in height are required to hold a valid ticket for admission to the aquarium and therefore may require an annual pass purchased for them.

Dive Terms & Conditions

Blue Planet Aquarium reserves the right to cancel, alter or amend any of the times and dates without notice if operational or other circumstances require us to do so.

If Blue Planet Aquarium cancels, postpones or alters any of the dive events at any given time the participant accepts that Blue Planet Aquarium is not responsible or liable for any external costs. Examples would include travel costs, hotel costs. NB. This list is not exhaustive.

Blue Planet Aquarium will only issue Dive Vouchers upon receipt of full payment.

If this is a surprise gift please be aware that if the diver answers “yes” to one or more of the questions on the PADI medical form, their dive will be postponed until a later date when they can present a valid Doctor’s certificate.

If the diver fails to appear for the dive without prior written notification the dive and all payments will be forfeit. Methods of contact can be made through e-mail, fax or post (see below for details). Telephone cancellations will not be accepted.

If you are unable to participate on the given day, we will be happy to reschedule your dive provided no less than 14 days’ notice is given. This 14 day notice will be strictly adhered to. If the diver gives less than 14 days’ notice then additional booking charges will be incurred, currently £25.

It is mandatory to complete a PADI medical disclaimer prior to the dive. This is a basic health questionnaire. If the diver answers “yes” to any of the questions on the form please contact us, as the diver will require an additional form to be signed by their GP prior to commencing the dive. If your GP does not authorise the dive, we do give refunds based upon medical grounds, but please be aware that there is a £25 administration fee deducted from the overall price of the dive refunded in this case. Please note – Doctors may charge additional fees.

Blue Planet Aquarium Dive Instructors reserve the right to refuse medical notes if they feel that the diver is unsuitable to participate and could possibly jeopardise the Health and Safety of themselves and other participants.

All divers must present their letter of confirmation from our Booking Office upon arrival.

Qualified divers must bring all SCUBA certifications, current and up to date log books or proof of dives within the last six months etc. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your dive and no refunds will be given. Kit hire for qualified dives is available at an additional charge.

Any damages to hired equipment must be paid for in full.

Qualified divers must have a minimum of one logged dive within the six months prior to the event.

Qualified divers under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present on the day of the event.

Qualified divers under the age of 16 must have a parent or legal guardian with the same, equivalent or higher qualification who will be diving with them (written permission must be provided from parent). There is a minimum height for this dive at 125cm (4ft 2in) tall.

Non qualified divers or divers wishing to take part in the Shark Encounter SCUBA experience must be at least 16 years of age and in reasonable health.

All dive experiences are non-refundable, unless the diver is medically unfit to participate. In this case we will send you a medical exemption form to be signed off by a General Practitioner. Upon receipt of medical exemption Blue Planet Aquarium will issue a refund in the form of a cheque (all refunds are minus administration fees).

Dive Vouchers may be transferred to another person.

If the voucher is received as a surprise gift and there are exceptional reasons (other than medical) that the recipient can not participate we may consider a refund, on the proviso that Blue Planet Aquarium is given immediate notice.

Gift Voucher for both Shark Encounter, Junior Shark Encounter and Shark Dives are valid for 6 months. Any extension of the validity period is at the discretion of Blue Planet Aquarium. Note additional charges will be incurred.

Once the pool training and/or briefings have begun, no refunds will be given unless operational issues force Blue Planet Aquarium staff to cancel the dive

‘Promotional 2019 – 2020’ Dive Terms & Conditions

The ‘Promotional 2019-2020′ refers specifically to Dive Experiences (Shark Encounter, Junior Shark Encounter, Qualified Shark Dive and Shark Awareness Course) sold at a special promotional rate, at selected periods on our website.

Please be aware that Blue Planet Aquarium Dive Experiences purchased as part of this special offer at a special price are also subject to the additional following terms and conditions –

The validity period of Dives offered during these promotions cannot be extended unless for medical reasons.  In this case we will send you a medical exemption form to be signed off by a General Practitioner.

Only upon receipt of the medical exemption form will the Promotional Dive Voucher be extended.

Note – An administration fee will be incurred.

Postage & Delivery 

Postage rates are included in the Gift Card . Postage is exclusive for the United Kingdom. Additional charge will be incurred if posted overseas (outside the United Kingdom) Please contact [email protected] for more information on price. The method of postage is typically with Royal Mail but we reserve the right to choose the method of postage. Please keep in mind that all delivery will be delivered in 5 working days. We accept no responsibility for Royal Mail Post service or other suppliers. All postage will be sent as recorded delivery. Delivery times are not guaranteed and may be impacted by weather, holidays, and other factors. Delivery charges are non-refundable.

Pricing

The prices displayed on our website are correct to the best of our knowledge and maintained on a daily basis. Prices of tickets, annual passes and shark experiences are subject to price change without prior notice.

Availability 

Day tickets, Shark Experiences and Annual Passes are available from the day of purchase. Visitors are reminded that for operational, technical, safety or any other reason any advertised exhibit, attraction or any of the facilities on site may be closed, removed, altered or otherwise unavailable at any time. Blue Planet Aquarium reserves the right to alter or cancel any show time of feeding time or any other presentation without notice.

All Shark Experiences are offered subject to the availability of dates. Bookings should be made in as far in advance as possible especially during peak times such as weekends and holidays. We suggest if you plan to purchase a Shark Experiences for a date at short notice, you call us to ensure there is still availability before completing the transaction. You should not make any travel or accommodation arrangements in connection with the experience until you have received your booking confirmation from Blue Planet Aquarium Team. Blue Planet Aquarium reserves the right to cancel Shark Experiences at any given time or change opening days and hours. Blue Planet Aquarium will not be responsible for any additional cost which this may incur.

Restrictions

Admission to Blue Planet Aquarium is subject to minimum age, height, health or other requirements. In most cases, these details are listed on our website in the general terms and conditions.  Terms and conditions are subject to change at any time. It is the purchaser’s and/or redeemer’s responsibility to check that the restrictions are met. Please read them carefully.

Validity & Extensions

Each Gift Card will show a unique code, which must be quoted when booking for a Shark Experiences or presented at the gate when visiting Blue Planet Aquarium. Gift Card code must be kept safely and securely. Blue Planet Aquarium will take no responsibility for any loss you may incur as a result of impersonation or identity fraud. Each Gift Card will be valid from the day of purchase and will expire after 6 months. In the case of Annual Passes the expiration is 1 year after purchase

An extension to Shark Experiences and day tickets gift card will have an administration fee of £25.00. Gift Cards can only be extended if they are still inside their expiry date.

Refunds & Cancelled Orders

All dive experiences are non-refundable, unless the diver is medically unfit to participate. Upon receipt of medical exemption, gift card and holder, Blue Planet Aquarium will issue a refund in the form of a cheque (Administration charges may apply). Gift cards may be extended, fees may apply.
