What are your opening hours?
We are open every day except Christmas day.
Our weekday opening hours are 10am-5pm daily, and 10-6pm at weekends.
During most peak School Holiday periods we open 10am – 6pm.
Note: On Christmas Eve and new Year’s Eve we are open 10am to 4pm.
How long does it take to go around the aquarium?
Anywhere between 2-3 hours depending on your interest. We have shows and feeds throughout the day and also a restaurant and play area.
What do animals do you have?
We have Europe’s largest collection of Sharks, along with many other species of fish from around the world. We also have reptiles, lizards, snakes, caiman, frogs, a rock pool area as well as a section on venomous animals as well as an spacious Dalmatian Pelican outdoor enclosure.
How much is it to get in?
Up to date ticket prices can be found here. Infant juniors under 90cm in height are admitted for free.
Do carers get in for free?
Yes, carers are admitted for free on a 1:1 basis as long as they can provide proof of carer status.
Do you have to pay for under 3’s?
Infant junior’s under 90cm in height are admitted into Blue Planet Aquarium free. Please note: Age is not used as the criteria for Infant complimentary admission.
Do you have a restaurant?
Yes we have a large on-site restaurant area with seating that provides hot and cold food. There are also facilities for heating baby food and milk.
Can we eat our own food in the aquarium?
Yes, we only ask that you do not eat your own food in the restaurant. We have an outdoor picnic area you can eat at or there are various seating areas around Blue Planet Aquarium away from the restaurant.
What should I do if I can’t print my e-ticket?
Simply present your confirmation email on your smart device on arrival. You can of course print out your email if you prefer, or even just write down your confirmation number starting BPA-COL.
I’m trying to book online and am unsure if the transaction has worked.
If your transaction has been successful you will be sent a confirmation email. Simply print this out or write down the reference number and bring this along with you or present the confirmation email on your smartphone.
If you have not received a confirmation email it is unlikely your transaction has been successful. A reserve may be placed on funds by your bank during this process, but no funds have actually been taken from the account. This is a security anti-fraud feature which occurs when certain information has been input incorrectly.
Do I need to pay for car parking at the aquarium?
Yes, please be aware that a charge of £2.75 applies to Blue Planet Aquarium visitors, regardless of length of stay. Your car park tickets also allows you a complimentary drink in our restaurant with any purchase.
