Blue Planet Aquarium is home to over 100 living displays across 16 themed zones taking guests on a journey of underwater discovery. It is home to Europe’s largest collection of sharks housed in a 3.8 million litre exhibition display.


About the Role

This is a varied and integral role in the aquarium. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that the grounds surrounding the attraction and the attraction itself are presented to the highest standards and are in good working order. You will be required to carry out general maintenance duties in the aquarium such as painting and basic fixing of equipment.


You can expect to carry out general garden maintenance including grass cutting, greenhouse, plants/planting, weeding, strimming and hedge cutting which includes using machinery such as ride on mowers, strimmer’s and hedge cutters.


About You

Our ideal candidate will have completed a trade-based apprenticeship, or be qualified to HNC/BTEC/NVQ level or equivalent, in a trade/services discipline.


You will need a good general knowledge of DIY skills in painting, plumbing joinery and minor electrical works. Alongside this, we are looking for someone with a good knowledge of plants and horticulture techniques. Due to the nature of the role we expect candidates to be able to demonstrate a practical understanding of Health and Safety and be aware of the importance of safe systems of work.
