An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Dive professional to join our Zoological Team as Dive Officer at Blue Planet Aquarium.
About the Role
Having overall responsibility for the Dive operation at Blue Planet Aquarium, you will lead, manage and train the dive team in all diving related activities.
You will work with the marketing team to promote and sell our dive experiences as well as run and participate in our famous Aqua Theatre Shows on a daily basis.
You will need to be organised and proactive with a real passion for Diving. Previous experience of working in a Dive site environment is essential and ideally you will also have proven diver training experience in a customer focused dive environment.
As you will be managing a small team of part time divers, you should be able to demonstrate in your application strong leadership and communication skills.
Ideal candidates should have an understanding and awareness of UK health and safety dive legislation along with the ability to use their initiative; self motivated and an excellent communicator. The on-going training and organisation of the Dive teams is a key aspect of this role.
Other responsibilities include completing and regularly reviewing Dive procedures and risk assessments, ensuring the maintenance of Dive equipment is carried out and assisting the Curator to ensure well maintained displays throughout the attraction.
The post holder will be required to work 40 hours per week including regular weekends and bank holidays.
