Blue Planet Aquarium, in Cheshire Oaks, is offering free entry to anyone aged over 60.
The offer, which ends this Tuesday December 15th, represents a saving of £14.50 off the usual concessions entry price.
It’s the first time the award-winning aquarium has trialled such a generous promotion and bosses have been delighted with the way in which this offer for the last five Tuesday’s has been received.
Blue Planet Aquarium’s Phil Jones said: “This really has been an unprecedented offer, we’ve never done anything like it before. We’ve had great success with this Free Over 60’s offer and we’ve welcomed in hundreds of visitors, some who have never visited us before, but many who have taken the opportunity to return.
“We decided ‘Silver Tuesdays’ would be a great way to provide both existing and new customers with an extra incentive to come and see what we have to offer them, and it’s been a great success.
Home to more than 100 living displays in six specially-themed areas, Blue Planet Aquarium offers a whole world of underwater discovery.
At the aquarium’s heart is the incredible 3.8 million litre Caribbean Reef display, complete with 230ft underwater tunnel, which houses one of Europe’s largest collection of sharks – including three-metre-long sand tiger sharks.
Other displays are home to everything from mudskippers and archer fish to lionfish and moray eels. There are daily Aquatheatre shows where you can watch the divers as they feed the fish via a huge underwater viewing window.
Other exciting exhibits include seahorses, starfish, piranhas, snakes, freshwater turtles and otters in their spacious outdoor holt.
The ‘Silver Tuesdays’ free admission ends this Tuesday December 15th and is open to anyone over 60. Blue Planet Aquarium is open daily from 10am. Blue Planet Aquarium, Cheshire Oaks, Cheshire, CH65 9LF (just off M53 Junc.10). Tel: 0151 357 8804. Visit www.blueplanetaquarium.com for more information.
