BLUE PLANET AQUARIUM TEAM UP WITH TOP RUGBY SIDE SALE SHARKS!

January 2, 2015

Sharky, who has been patrolling the pitch and touchlines at Sale Sharks home games for 15 years, is visiting the award-winning aquarium to welcome home his twin Finlay.

According to club legend, the brothers were separated at a very early age with Sharky settling in to his life in England while Finlay travelled to warmer climes.

Once together again the pair plan to join forces and double the fun and excitement at Sale Sharks’ home games.

Finlay has been coached by Sharky on what will be his new role at home games, and fans are being encouraged to say hello and get a photo with the newly re-united brothers!

Blue Planet Aquarium’s Phil Jones said: “We’re delighted to have played our part in bringing the brothers back together again.

“We’re providing Finlay with his own Sale Sharks’ kit and will also be working with the club over the coming season on a variety of joint activities and events.

“These will include special offers for fans to visit the aquarium and even take part in shark dives. Aquarium visitors will also have the chance to watch the Sharks in action with money-saving offers on match tickets at the AJ Bell Stadium” he added.

Both Finlay and Sharky will be attending Sale Sharks’ next home game against Northampton Saints at the AJ Bell Stadium on Saturday 10th January (kick off 2pm).

Sale Sharks’ Head of Sponsorship, Andrew Lamb, said: “The arrival of Finlay will bring an enhanced experience for families on match days – double the chance to meet an official mascot and for youngsters (and the odd adult) to have their photo with them.

“We’re also confident the brothers will help to generate an even better game atmosphere as they stroll up and down the touchlines at the AJ Bell Stadium” he added.
